Solar and Wind Energy Resources Adequacy Study to Meet the Energy Demand in India 2050
The purpose of this study is to evaluate India's solar and wind resources to use solar and wind energy to meet its energy demand under the Paris Agreement's goal of keeping global warming 2 degrees Celsius. We use 18 years' worth of hourly reanalysis meteorological data to study the variability of local wind and solar resources in India. By modeling several scenarios using this data, it was possible to assess the dependability of wind and solar energy generation for satisfying India's electrical energy needs. Zones for renewable energy production that have already been discovered are taken into account when estimating India's potential power capacity from solar and wind technologies. These zones can collectively produce five times as much electricity as India now needs. The energy supply is frequently unpredictable, according to an analysis of the hourly energy balance between generation and demand.
